Released Journal Citation Reports for 2020

Key figures for 2020:

Journals selected for inclusion: this year the publication includes over 12,000 journals from 83 countries on five continents and 236 scientific categories in the natural and social sciences. More than 1600 journals are completely open access. 351 magazines have been added to the JCR this year, of which 178 are fully open.

List of journals receiving their first impact factor

New descriptive data on open access models. The new data shows each journal’s articles by access model. This provides the research community with transparent, publisher-independent information about the relative contribution of articles published free of charge for reading and reuse under Creative Commons (“golden open access”) licenses to the journal’s overall content and links. For the 7487 hybrid journals in JCR, readers can now quickly and easily identify:

  • the number of articles published using the traditional subscription model, and
  • those published through Creative Commons licenses.

• Objectivity in the choice of magazines. Clarivate removed 33 journals from the JCR this year to maintain the integrity of the reports, representing 0.27% of the listed journals. JCR monitors and excludes journals that exhibit abnormal citation behavior, including where there is evidence of over-self-citation of a journal and citation summation

Attention!

Scientometric indicators of scientific publications for 2019 (SJR, CiteScore, SNIP) have been updated in the Scopus citation database. Accordingly, there have been updates to the journal quartiles and percentile.

The indicators are updated once a year. The next update is planned for June 2021.

The highest percentile of the journal and percentiles for individual subject categories (for which the publication is declared in Scopus) can be viewed in the journal profile (go to the “Sources” section and enter the name of the journal or ISSN in the search field).

Please note that the impact factor does not exist as such in the Scopus citation database. An impact factor can be called any scientometric values in the citation base, that is, SJR, SNIP, CiteScore.
