The SPIN code is the personal identification code of the author in SCIENCE INDEX.SCIENCE INDEX is an information and analytical system based on data from the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) and offers a number of additional services for authors of scientific publications, scientific organizations and publishers. The SCIENCE INDEX allows for comprehensive analytical and statistical studies of the publication activity of Russian scientists and scientific organizations and, as a result, to obtain a more accurate and objective assessment of the results of the scientific activities of individual scientists, scientific groups, organizations and their departments.
The main task of the SCIENCE INDEX is to provide the fullest possible coverage of all publications of Russian scientists and their correct assessment based on citations. This takes into account not only articles from more than 3,500 Russian scientific journals systematically processed at the RSCI, but also articles in foreign journals, as well as other types of scientific publications - monographs, conference proceedings, patents, dissertations, scientific reports, etc.
The SCIENCE INDEX information and analytical system offers a number of new opportunities for registered authors. Authors can independently adjust the list of their publications and citations in the RSCI, receive up-to-date information about the citation of publications not only in the RSCI, but also in the Web of Science and Scopus, prepare and send manuscripts to journals through the Electronic Editorial system, be involved in work as a reviewer, expert, scientific editor or translator, etc.
To receive a PIN code, the author must complete the registration procedure in the SCIENCE INDEX system on the website of the Scientific Electronic Library eLibrary.

ORCHID is unique due to its independence from scientific disciplines and national borders, as well as its interaction with other identification systems. The main purpose of introducing the ORCHID system is to be able to identify scientific papers written by various scientists with the same first and last names. The identifier is a 16-digit number unique to each author. The ORCHID account includes information about the name of the scientist, his email address, the name of the organization and his research activities. ORCHID takes into account the need to control the dissemination of this data and provides appropriate tools to manage the level of data privacy.
