1. Additional features of the Web of Science platform for a scientist
At the webinar, we will master the advanced search in the Web of Science Core Collection, the syntax of search queries, combining results, saving data, setting up notifications about new documents on a given topic and citing works, searching and analyzing data in the cited bibliography. Let’s choose an algorithm for finding answers to frequently asked questions: is this article indexed? Which organizations and scientists from a certain country are engaged in similar research, how to contact them? How many times, where and by whom has a work or journal that is not indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection been cited? Let’s briefly consider the structure of the Web of Science platform, the capabilities and functions of individual databases.

2. Presentation and assessment of the organization’s achievements according to Web of Science and InCites
Correct data on publication activity is necessary not only for reports and grant applications, but also for balanced self-assessment and the formation of an organization’s development strategy. Renaming, reassignment, structural changes and the good intentions of the authors to translate the name of the organization as best as possible lead to the impossibility of recognizing one organization under different names and, therefore, to obtain complete data on publication activity. The correct organization profile allows you to quickly find and analyze all jobs. How to create / edit a profile. What absolute and normalized indicators can be obtained in the Web of Science Core Collection and InCites, how to interpret and use them correctly. And answers to frequent applied questions: How to quickly draw up a report on publication activity for a certain period of time, in what areas is this organization a leader in the country and the world? Which collaborations are more successful? As well as answers to questions received during the webinar.

3. Updated Journal Citation Reports
On June 30, 2021, a new Journal Citation Reports was released with updated values of impact factors, quartiles and other indicators. A new metric, Journal Citation Indicator, was also presented, which, in contrast to the impact factor, is calculated for all journals of the Web of Science Core Collection. What do these metrics say? How can we use JCR to analyze editions for publication? What magazines are there on my topic? How to keep such a list? Which magazines in my country are on this list? Where can I see the impact factor and quartile? Answers to these and other frequently asked questions during the webinar and demonstration of the new JCR interface.
