Topic: How not to become a victim of a predatory magazine
Thesis: Predatory journals pose a serious threat to researchers, undermining confidence in scientific results and creating risks to academic reputation.
At the webinar, we will look at how bona fide scientific publications differ from predatory ones and what signs should alert the author at the stage of choosing a journal for publication. As part of the webinar, we will analyze:
• What characteristics are typical for predatory magazines;
• what to look for when receiving publication invitations;
• how to verify information about the journal, the editorial board, and the review processes;
• What tools and resources can be used to assess the reliability of the publication.
• How to check if a journal is indexed in the Web of Science
• How and where the journal metrics are calculated and where to view them
• Answers to questions from the registration forms
