Сталинизм и репрессии в Казахстане 1920-1940-х годов. — Алматы, 2009. — 448- ISBN 9965-784-38-8.

Prior to this, there were no books in Kazakh historiography in which the process of the destruction of entire social strata by the Soviet government – the Kazakh bais, the Muslim clergy (ishan, imams and mullahs), the emerging political elite and the creative intelligentsia – was subjected to special analysis. In the book presented to the readers, an attempt is made to recreate individual episodes of this tragic phenomenon in the history of the Kazakh people based on specific documentary material from the lives of some representatives of these social groups, namely, investigative case materials. The book is intended for specialists, teachers, students, as well as anyone interested in Russian history.

Кузнецова, Е. Карлаг: пространство и судьбы : общественно-политическая литература / Е. Кузнецова, Э. Усманова, Н. Кочегарова. — Караганда : TENGRILtd, 2013. — 105 с. : ил.

In January 2013, in Karaganda, as part of a meeting of representatives of German organizations in Kazakhstan and Germany with the creative intelligentsia of the city, a presentation of the publication “Karlag – space and Destinies” on the project “Landscapes of political repression” Karlag (30-50s)” was held. The project was implemented with the support of the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The publication was sponsored by Nina-Tour LLP.The idea of the project originated with the desire to conduct a tourist route to places that are associated with the tragic events of the Stalinist repressions of the 30-50s of the XX century in order to familiarize the younger generation of Kazakhstanis with the history of our country, with the stages of the formation of democratic thinking, with the history of human destinies.Descendants of those who were in the Karlag of the NKVD, who remained alive, and who remained here forever, constantly come to Kazakhstan. This is a meeting through the years and spaces with your ancestral origin, it is necessary to understand “who are you?”, to understand your soul, to feel the breath of strength and will of the departed loved ones. The prisoners of Karlag, one of the largest Stalinist concentration camps in the GULAG archipelago, were well–known throughout the Soviet country military, artists, scientists, artists, writers, engineers, and ordinary people with ordinary work backgrounds, wives and children of the so-called family members of traitors to the Motherland. Representatives of more than 50 nationalities passed through the Karlag trials. There are fewer and fewer people who knew and remembered, felt the full tragedy of the repression of the famous 58th article of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, the pain and poverty of exile, the injustice of ethnic cleansing, hunger in the steppe. Their testimonies are an important part of our national and world history, our national memory. Their memories became a kind of guides along the Karlag route: Karabas, Dolinka, Zhartasskaya dam, Koksunsky state farm, Spassk. The authors of the brochure “Karlag: space and destinies”: E. Kuznetsova, Honored Journalist of the Republic of Kazakhstan; E. Usmanova, archaeologist, Karaganda State University. Academician E.A. Buketova, KTA category I tour guide; N. Kochegarova, Director of Nina-Tour LLP, Karaganda. The tourist route “Through the memorable places of Karlag” is a tribute to the past, without which the history of the independent Republic of Kazakhstan is inconceivable.
