Department of Scientific Literature Services
Serves full-time bachelor’s students in their 3rd to 5th years and those studying through distance learning technologies; 3rd- and 4th-year college students; master’s and doctoral students; as well as university faculty and staff, providing access to literature in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences, and technical disciplines.
The department is responsible for the organization, storage, management, and use of the library’s collection.
It distributes newly acquired publications to the library’s structural units and to departmental resource rooms, provides literature for book exhibitions, handles literature request denials, and processes the withdrawal of materials from the library’s collection.
Fulfills requests for publications that are available in a single copy in the collection and issues literature from the storage archive to service departments and reading rooms based on Request Slips.
The department houses the library’s core collection across all fields of knowledge, including:
- Academic literature
- Educational and methodological materials
- Scientific publications
- Proceedings of the University, major industry-specific universities, and the National Academy of Sciences
- Dissertations
- Local history materials
- Rare books
