Acquired databases

Whether looking at data, books, journals, proceedings or patents, Web of Science provides a single destination to access the most reliable, integrated, multidisciplinary research. Quality, curated content delivered alongside information on emerging trends, subject specific content and analysis tools make it easy for students, faculty, researchers, analysts, and program managers to pinpoint the most relevant research to inform their work.

ScienceDirect is Elsevier’s leading information solution for researchers, teachers, students, health care professionals and information professionals. It combines authoritative, full-text scientific, technical and health publications with smart, intuitive functionality. ScienceDirect hosts over 2,500 journals and more than 33,000 books—over 13 million peer-reviewed publications.

Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature: scientific journals, books and conference proceedings. Delivering a comprehensive overview of the world’s research output in the fields of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, and arts and humanities, Scopus features smart tools to track, analyze and visualize research.

The Kazakhstan Virtual Science Library (VSL) provides an efficient way to search and access millions of full-text research articles. The website is accessible to faculty, students, researchers, laboratory technicians, and science and technology innovators working from their scientific institutions and universities. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA), the Kazakhstan Virtual Science Library (VSL) is part of a larger program of technical consultations and trainings on, among other things, publishing in international journals and research proposal development. The program is implemented by CRDF Global in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science and the National Center for Scientific and Technological Information. The goal of the Kazakhstan VSL Program is to improve the dissemination of scientific resources to research institutes and universities in Kazakhstan to meet the demand of Kazakhstan’s research community.

The IEEE Xplore digital library is a powerful resource for discovery of and access to scientific and technical content published by the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and its publishing partners. IEEE Xplore provides web access to more than three-million full-text documents from some of the world’s most highly cited publications in electrical engineering, computer science and electronics. More than two-million documents are in robust, dynamic HTML format.
